洛杉磯湖人「紫金一哥」Kobe Bryant是NBA現役球員中待在同一隊最久的球員，隨著湖人老闆Jerry Buss於19日清晨辭世，當年Bryant差點被交易去底特律活塞一事也被提起。
2007-08年球季，Bryant高喊「賣我」鬧得滿城風雨，老Buss決定邀請他到家裡，並警告他如果再惹事端，將送他去活塞，而活塞當時並不在Bryant的選項內。
「那件事對我打擊很大，事實上我也不是真的想離開Buss。」Bryant今天說。
根據美媒《雅虎運動》報導，Bryant當時理解到決不能放棄自己的「不得交易條款」，也不能任意離開湖人，而活塞當年的交易包裹包括幾位核心球員，以及數個選秀權。
2007年，湖人已連續5年未能奪冠，且連2年止步季後賽首輪，Bryant不滿的情緒越來越高漲，於是喊出「賣我」逼迫球團重視補強問題，否則將鬧到將自己交易出去為止。
